About Senator Rollan Roberts
★★★★★
Senator Rollan Roberts has been a servant leader in southern West Virginia for nearly four decades, faithfully serving families, churches, and communities with integrity, humility, and conviction.
Raised in Sacramento, California, Rollan’s early life was shaped by hard lessons and personal responsibility. The fourth of five children, he learned resilience at a young age. At 15, Rollan found his faith and gave his life to Christ—a decision that would become the foundation of everything that followed.
Rollan pursued his education at Pensacola Christian College, earning his bachelor’s degree and later receiving an honorary Doctor of Divinity. More than 50 years ago, he married his wife, and together they committed their lives to ministry. For five decades, Rollan has served full-time as a pastor.
In October 1988, Rollan accepted the senior pastorate of Victory Baptist Church in Beaver, WV, answering a clear calling to serve the people of Raleigh County and the surrounding region.
Over the years, the ministry has grown significantly, completing multiple building projects including a $1.5 million expansion of Victory Baptist Academy. Today, the entire ministry, including the church, school, and 25 acres of property is completely debt-free, reflecting careful stewardship and responsible leadership. His deep roots in the community, ministering to families, educating children, and mentoring generations, are why so many West Virginians know him personally and trust his leadership.
That trust carried Rollan into public service. He answered the call to serve once again and was elected to the West Virginia Senate, where he has earned a reputation as a steady, principled conservative. Rollan currently serves as Vice Chair of Senate Finance, helping oversee the state budget, and chairs the Workforce Committee. He also serves on the Education, Health, and Children & Families Committees, where he is deeply involved in strengthening foster care, protecting families, and improving outcomes for children.
As a senator, Rollan has delivered for his district, including securing $6 million to build a new, state-of-the-art Salvation Army facility that now serves multiple counties and helps thousands of West Virginians in need. He is known for being accessible, engaged, and willing to listen, while never wavering from conservative principles.
Rollan and his wife, Debbie, have three children and eight grandchildren. Their family remains deeply involved in the community, with multiple family members teaching and serving at the Christian school they helped build. Rollan’s life, as a pastor, husband, father, and senator, reflects a lifelong commitment to faith, service, and the people of West Virginia.
Rollan says, “I asked Jesus to forgive my sins, come into my heart, and save me at the age of 15. I’ve been privileged to serve Him for more than 56 years—as a pastor, husband, father, and now as a senator. I’ll continue to be an honest, hardworking, and trustworthy conservative voice for southern West Virginia. This is my ‘for such a time as this’ moment, and I humbly ask for your vote.”
