Why a 2nd term for Rollan Roberts?

West Virginia is at a crucial point in its history. The northern part of our state seems to get all of the attention, and southern West Virginia needs a strong voice. In his first term, Senator Roberts has developed the relationships, reputation, and respect necessary to effectively represent Senate District 9, which is the hub of southern West Virginia. Our state desperately needs not only sincere public servants, but also servant-leaders with a vision and savvy to make southern West Virginia strong, attractive, and economically competitive with surrounding states. Issues like the opioid crisis and foster care require the compassion that someone with a pastor's heart and wisdom can bring to the table. Rollan Roberts has shown himself to be distinctly qualified to address these and many other problem areas.

Pastor

For 34 years Dr. Roberts has been a public servant in Beaver, WV in the same ministry. He has preached in churches in Raleigh, Wyoming, and Fayette counties.

Educator

He has been an educator for 45 years, coaching football, basketball, and volleyball teams and teaching high school classes. For many of those years he was also a school principal. He has the insight needed to bring permanent solutions to the WV education crisis.

Administrator

He now serves as administrator of Victory Baptist Academy, an accredited K-12 Christian school. He is recognized locally and nationally as a forward-thinking innovator. His years of leadership experience have enabled him to influence many decisions necessary to improve the quality of life for the residents of the three counties that make up Senate District 9.

Bio

Dr. Rollan Roberts has been a servant-leader in southern West Virginia for thirty-three years. In October, 1988 he accepted the senior pastorate of Victory Baptist Church in Beaver, WV. Several building projects have been completed over the years as the ministry has grown including, but not limited to a $1.5 million expansion of Victory Baptist Academy, additional acreage purchased and developed, and extensive remodeling of the church facilities. The entire ministry and the twenty-five acres which make up the church and school properties is debt free. Over the years, the ministry has been a tremendous help to families throughout southern West Virginia.

He has served on the board of directors for national and state educational organizations and is regarded as an independent thinker with innovative solutions. He is a conservative Christian seeking to protect traditional values, preserve liberty, and proclaim truth in high places.

Rollan and his wife Debbie have been married for forty-six years and have three children and six grandchildren. They reside in Beaver, just outside of Beckley, WV.

He says, “I asked Jesus to forgive my sins, come into my heart, and save me at the age of 15. I’ve been privileged to serve Him for 52 years. I’ll continue to be an honest, hard working, trustworthy senator. This is my ‘for such a time as this’ moment. I humbly ask for your vote.”

The Economy

At some point we must balance cherishing and memorializing our heritage of the past with positioning for the new future norms of 21st century expectations. We must position ourselves both individually and collectively to identify and preserve the best types of changes and discourage any destructive changes. These adjustments won't happen overnight or by accident, but rather on purpose with a dedicated joint effort.
Our rural counties need assistance with ideas to provide work opportunities that enhance the quality of life without having to move away from the places they love.
Senator Roberts has rolled up his sleeves and worked hard to help especially southern WV once again experience that "Almost Heaven" feeling of pride when progress is being made.

Senator Roberts needs your help to continue to stand for conservative values.
